Our funeral home is a family owned and operated business. We are large enough to give our families the same service as the largest funeral homes around, yet we are small enough that each family gets the level of attention and care they deserve.

Johnson Funeral Home in Parshall, North Dakota purchased the hearse and the Hoger family of Judson, North Dakota restored the hearse in 1985 for the funeral home.  The hearse was originally from the late 1700's or early 1800's and used for the octagon caskets of that era.  The restored hearse has all of the original parts except two boards were added for height and width to accommodate a modern casket and new gas lanterns were added as the original ones were stolen.

Johnson Funeral Service has a working horse drawn hearse located in a display building north of the Thief River Falls funeral home.  The hearse was originally found in a garage in Sand Point, Idaho in very poor condition.

The hearse was used at the funeral homes in Parshall and New Town, North Dakota and brought to Minnesota by Jim and Carol Johnson when they moved to Minnesota in 2002.  Eric and Kandee keep a team of Clydesdale's ready on their farm east of Red Lake Falls.
