Seaman Aaron Joppru with the United States Coast Guard, of Seattle, WA, formerly of Somerset, WI, passed away Monday October 21, 2018 at the age of 22.

A Celebration of Aaron's Life will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, October 28, 2018 at Zion Lutheran Church, Thief River Falls, MN, with United States Coast Guard Chaplain Lynn Christensen officiating.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Sunday at the Zion Lutheran Church, Thief River Falls, MN.

Aaron James Joppru was born January 30, 1996 at Junction City, KS.  He attended school at Junction City, KS, Challenger Elementary in Thief River Falls, MN and graduated from Somerset High School in Somerset, WI.  Following high school, Aaron went to Concordia College in St. Paul, MN for two years and Kansas State University for a short time prior to enlistment in the United States Military.

On March 21, 2017, Aaron entered into service with the United States Coast Guard.  He enjoyed travels to Hawaii, New Zealand, North Pole, Antarctica, Australia and many other locations throughout the world.  Aaron was currently stationed on the Coast Guard Cutter Polar Star in Seattle, WA.  He was awarded Coast Guard Pistol Expert Medal, Coast Guard Sea Service Ribbon, Antarctica Service Medal,

Aaron led a very disciplined healthy lifestyle.  He enjoyed body building, motorcycling, kayaking, and swimming.  In High School Aaron was a state pole vaulting champion, was goalie on his soccer team, and earned several letters in track and soccer.

Aaron was a natural leader, an extreme over-achiever and everybody liked him.  Failure was never one of his options.

He is survived by father Conrad (Mindi) Joppru, mother Koreen (Brad) Carlton; grandparents Orrin and Linda Joppru and Chris Handy; and many other relatives and friends.
