Abner Maattala, 94, died at First Care Medical Services, Fosston, MN, Friday, February 18, 2005.


Abner Daniel Maattala was born December 11, 1910 at Virginia, MN, the son of John Gust and Hilja Emelia (Uimonen) Maattala. In 1920, he moved with his family to Oklee, MN, where he has farmed all of his life including dairy, grains, and hay.

Abner served on the Board of Directors for Oklee Co-op Oil Association. He enjoyed crossword puzzles and reading.

Survived by sister, Ebba Kral, Bloomington, MN; nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins.

Preceded in death by parents and brother, Leo.
