Adeline Colleen Erickson was born September 2, 1934 in Thief River Falls daughter of John and Emma (Grimley) Erickson. She was baptized in the Lutheran faith and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls. Adeline attended grade school in Thief River Falls and Goodridge and High School in Goodridge, MN. She was married to Clarence Vernon Hanson on November 14, 1952 at the parsonage in Thief River Falls by Reverend Peterson.
Adeline was a very independent and strong willed woman who believed in the Republican, Christian values and was very impassioned in her beliefs, following the political arena closely. She was a loving wife and mother to seven children, working along side her husband on their dairy farm for over forty years. She moved to Thief River Falls following the death of her husband, where she was proud to begin working at the Heritage Center, earning her first paycheck at the age of 70. She then took a position at the Thief River Falls Public Library, where she remained until falling ill in November of 2006.
Adeline enjoyed the time she spent flower gardening, feeding and watching the birds, listening to the radio, and visiting with family and friends. She was always ready to have just one more cup of coffee. She particularly enjoyed going out for coffee with her special group of friends; and took her first jet ride when she traveled to Alaska in the summer of 2004.
Adeline was a long time member of the Nazareth Lutheran Church and ladies aid where she served as president for a number of years. She was also a member of the NFO where she worked on the publicity newsletter for several years, as she and Clarence were active, energetic members.
