Adeline Quam, 96, of Thief River Falls, passed away at Sanford Hospital in Thief River Falls, MN, on Friday, December 6, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, December 9, 2013 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls, MN, with Rev. John Voelker officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM on Monday, December 9, 2013 at Trinity Lutheran Church. Adeline Eudora (Erickson) Quam was born July 2, 1917 near Itasca State Park to Edward and Bertha (Kling) Erickson. She graduated from Bemidji High School in 1936, then attended Hairdressing College in Fargo, North Dakota. Adeline successfully operated her own beauty shop for several years. On October 9, 1942, Adeline was united in marriage to Vernon Quam in Bemidji, MN. To this union two children were born, Dennis and Michele. She belonged to the Minnesota Hairdressers, the American Legion Auxiliary, and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls for 67 years. The years at their lake property at Cable Lake were special to Adeline. She loved to crochet, knit and sew, and helped make innumerable quilt tops for mission work at Trinity Lutheran Church. One of Adeline's favorite pastimes was making stained glass. She was a strong fighter and was proud of her ability to live on her own. Preceding Adeline in death were her husband, Vernon; her parents; seven sisters and four brothers. Survivors include her son, Dennis Quam of Beatty, OR; daughter, Michele (Bob) Willey of Glenwood Springs, CO; granddaughters, Cassidy (Eric Lamb) Willey, and Lisa Telfer; grandson, Craig (Silvana) Quam; three step-granddaughters, Betsy Willey, Morgan and Ashley Cawood; four great-grandchildren, Holden Telfer, Abigail, Joshua, and Josiah Quam; brother-in-law, Roy Quam; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
