Adeline Roppe, 83, died Tuesday, January 17, 2006 at CNC Unit of Northwest Medical Center, Thief River Falls, MN.
Funeral service will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 21, 2006 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Newfolden, MN with Reverend Nancy Hanson and Reverend Raynard Huglen officiating. Burial will be at Opdahl Cemetery, Newfolden, MN.
Visitation will be 5-8 PM on Friday, January 20, 2005 at the Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN with a 7:00 PM Prayer Service on Friday. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
Adeline Hazel Lee was born February 4, 1922 to Alfred and Lilly (Blinsmon) Lee in Newfolden, MN. She was baptized on May 12, 1922 in Newfolden, MN and confirmed at the Bethlehem Lutheran Free Church in Newfolden, MN on September 13, 1936. Adeline attended school in Newfolden.
Adeline was united in marriage to Bert Roppe on April 8, 1939 in Newfolden by Pastor Thorvald Myhrer at his home. Adeline worked several jobs over the years including an assistant cook at the Newfolden School, cleaning at the Marshall County State Bank, and various cleaning jobs in the Newfolden area.
Adeline enjoyed embroidery, flower gardening, car rides, and visiting her grandchildren. She was a kind, caring, loving person who enjoyed making people feel welcome. She enjoyed every Christmas Eve with Sherry and Chuck and then off to the iron range to be with their families. Adeline had enjoyed living at Valley Home for 3 ½ years before moving to CNC in 2005.
Adeline is survived by 3 children: Gale (Joyce) Roppe, Eveleth, MN, Larry (Linda) Roppe, Iron, MN; Sherry (Chuck) Olson, Newfolden, MN; and daughter in law Olga Roppe, Mountain Iron, MN; 13 grandchildren: Julie Stern, Patty Anderson, Tina Sola, Barry Roppe, Brent Roppe, Cindy Stanaway, Mandy Johnson, Angela Wollin, Andrea Newman, Hubert Ballis, Robert Ballis, Jerod Olson, Ryan Olson, 17 great grandchildren; 2 brothers-in-law Roy (Laura) Roppe, Newfolden, MN and Erwin Roppe, Washington state; 2 sisters-in-law, Joan Roppe, Newfolden, MN and Lorraine Roppe, Fargo, ND; and several nieces and nephews.
Adeline was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bert in 1999, son Allen in 1999, sister Judith Johnson, infant son, 2 nieces and 1 nephew.
