Obituary

Agnes Jensen, 81, died Friday, April 8, 2005 at Northwest Medical Center, CNC Unit, Thief River Falls, MN.

Funeral service will be 10:30 AM, Monday, April 11, 2005 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Thief River Falls, MN, with Reverend Gerry Eggers officiating. Burial to follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Thief River Falls, MN.

Visitation will be 5 " 7 PM, Sunday, April 10, 2005 at Johnson Funeral Service Thief River Falls, MN, with a 7 PM prayer service and for one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.

Agnes Marion Jensen was born April 19, 1923 at Erie, MN, Star Township, to Gudbrand and Julia (Broughton) Kompen. She was baptized and confirmed at Eklund Lutheran Church.

She attended Hazelwood School District 59. She graduated from Goodridge High School and later attended Normal Teachers Training School at Thief River Falls. She then taught at several schools before her marriage to Roy Jensen at Trinity Lutheran Church on December 20, 1944. They lived in North Dakota while Roy worked on road construction.

In 1955, they settled in Thief River Falls. Agnew worked for 10 years as a teacher and librarian aide in School District 564.

Agnes was active in the Heritage Community Center, singing in the choir and serving various office positions. She was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School and served in the Womens organization. She also sang in the choir for many years.

Agnes is survived by two sons, Richard (Elaine) Jensen, Thief River Falls, MN and Jon (Gretchen Anderson) Jensen, Lino Lakes, MN; one daughter, Linda (John) Ruohoniemi, Rhinelander, WI. She is survived by five grandchildren, Erika (Mike) Ramstorf and Dane Jensen, Thief River Falls, MN, Michael Ruohoniemi, Rhinelander, WI, Sara Ruohoniemi Wallner, Negaunee, MI, Allie Jensen, Lino Lakes, MN and two step-grandchildren, Jon Ruohoniemi, Long Beach, CA and Jane (Ted) Streitz, Northfield, MN. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren, Ethan Ruohoniemi and Amara Wallner, Negaunee, MI, Henry Ramstorf, Thief River Falls, MN and two step-great-grandchildren, Thomas and Rachel Streitz, Northfield, MN. One sister, Hilda Hoffman, Goodridge, MN survives her, as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a brother Alvin, three sisters: Gladys Kompen, Clenora Iverson and an infant sister; two nephews, Clinton Hoffman and Gary Iverson and an infant niece.
