Agnes Olson, 85, of Moorhead, formerly Thief River Falls, after a brief illness, returned peacefully to her heavenly Father at Meritcare hospital on October 9, 2007.
Memorial service will be on at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, October 13, 2007 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN with Pastor Irvin Schmitke officiating.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
Agnes Brennan was born January 21, 1922, the eldest of 3 children born to Henry and Anna (Sierke) Brennan. She was raised and attended school in the Barnum MN and Thief River Falls area.
Agnes married John Olson in 1941 and together they raised their family of five children. Those busy family years spent in the Thief River Falls & Glenwood, MN, and Harvey, ND areas as John was an engineer with the local railroads.
She was a devoted wife and mother, daughter, and sister, who enjoyed an active and independent life and led by example with a quiet strength and strong faith. Agnes enjoyed the outdoors and found spiritual renewal in just taking in the beauty of God's creation, she especially enjoyed hunting and fishing trips with her husband in the years before his passing, and, in more recent years, searching for Minnesota blueberries with friends " much to the concern of her children at times! Agnes continued throughout her life to be constantly active, busily helping wherever she was needed, and was a talented seamstress and crafter who created beautiful gifts for family, friends, and charity up to the moment of her brief illness. She would often comment on how she could just not understand how people could complain of being bored!
Remaining briefly behind and mourning her passing are her five children, James (Carole) Olson of Montana, Arlene (Arley) Running of Oregon, Gerald Olson of Minneapolis, Robert (Darlene) Olson of Idaho, and, Carol (Terry) Rust of West Fargo; her sister, Christine Brennan of Moorhead; 13 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, a nephew, 2 nieces, and many dear friends.
Agnes was preceded in death by her loving parents, cherished husband John, brother John Brennan, and granddaughter Krista.
In lieu of memorials contributions may be made to charity of choice.
