Obituary

Agnes Post, 99, died on Friday, January 23, 2009 at Thief River First Care in Thief River Falls, MN.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:30 PM, Tuesday, January 27, 2009 at St. Bernards Catholic Church, Thief River Falls, MN with Monsignor Timothy McGee presiding. Burial will be at St. Bernards Cemetery, Thief River Falls.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service at the church.

Agnes Mary Cote was born October 13, 1909 at Thief River Falls, MN, the daughter of Philip and Josephine (Demarais) Cote. She attended Knox and Central Elementary Schools and graduated Lincoln High School in 1928.

On May 11, 1928, Agnes was united in marriage to Gunnard Post at Rockford, IL. The couple lived at Rockford where Gunnard was employed. They lived in several cities where her husband worked in construction. In 1938, they moved to Thief River Falls, MN. She lived on South Conley Avenue for over 50 years. Agnes worked as a store clerk for many years at these businesses in Thief River Falls: Montgomery Ward, JC Penney, Ace Hardware and Kelly Hardware. Agnes has resided at the Thief River Care Center for the past 5 years.

Agnes was a member of St. Bernards Church, Thief River Falls, St. Bernards Guild and a former member of Catholic Daughters. Agnes loved to watch and feed the birds. For many years she helped care for her husband who was blinded at an early age. She enjoyed watching her afternoon soap operas.

She is survived by a half brother Ernest Cote in Texas, and many nieces and nephews.

Agnes is preceded in death by husband, Gunnard on November 11, 1978; parents; 6 sisters: Beatrice, Grace, Alice, Florence, Josephine, and Lois, and 2 brothers Delman and Clem.
