Obituary
Aile Selle, 96, died Monday, November 28, 2011 at Pioneer Memorial Care Center, Erskine, MN.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Monday, December 5, 2011 at Grace Lutheran Church in Grygla, MN with Rev. Rena Peterson officiating. Burial will follow in Lone Oak Cemetery, Minnie Township, Beltrami County, MN.
Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the funeral service at the church on Monday.
Aile Marie Kujonson was born on January 1, 1915 to Simeon and Mary (Haara) Kujanson who were immigrants form Finland. She grew up in the jack pines area and attended school at the Bog School in Stenerson Township and the Miller School in Minnie Township. She then helped babysit Ernest Selles children and that is when their love began.
She was united in marriage to Ernest Henry Selle on June 23, 1945 at the parsonage in Grygla, MN. They made their home near Fourtown, MN in the Jack Pines for many years. In the mid 1990s they moved into Grygla and lived in the White House Apartments for many years. Ernest died in 2000. She continued to make her home in Grygla until moving to the Pioneer Care Center near Erskine in 2009.
Aile had a way of doing things and wasnt afraid to tell you if it was right or wrong. She kept to herself and lived a simple life. She had a mischievous side to her and when she was caught she would get a big grin across her face. Aile was always prepared for visits from friends or family with a cake or sweets on hand. She was proud of her Finnish Heritage.
Aile was preceded in death by her husband Ernest; parents; brothers, Edward, Einard, Arne, Wallfred, and Edwin Kujonson; nieces Alice and Carol; nephew Ronald; and special friend Dr. G.T. VanRooy.
Aile is survived by four step daughters Mary Zarnott, Lois Ziegler, Vera Teetzel, and Carol Grosfield, and nieces and nephews.
