Al Buse, 101 of Red Lake Falls, MN passed away Sunday, April 3, 2016 at the Villa St. Vincent in Crookston, MN.
Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, April 8, 2016 at 10:30 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls, MN with Father Bill DeCrans Officiating. Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery at Red Lake Falls.
Visitation will be held Thursday, April 7, 2016, from 5 - 8 PM with a 7:00 PM Prayer Service at St. Joseph Catholic Church and also one hour prior to the service on Friday.
Al Buse was born December 5, 1914 in Red Lake Falls, MN son of Ernest and Molly (Allard) Buse. He attended Lafayette High School in Red Lake Falls graduating in 1933. Al entered the US Marine Corps in 1941 and served his country receiving an Honorable Discharge in 1945.
Al was united in marriage to Mae Hansel April 30, 1943 in San Diego, CA. The couple made their home in Red Lake Falls where Al was employed by the Red Lake Falls Police Department from 1932 - 1936, Tow Mill 1936 - 1941, Red Lake Falls Heating and Ventilation 1947 - 1952 and as Red Lake Falls Post Master from 1952 until his retirement in 1976.
He was involved in all shooting sports, enjoyed golfing and hunting. He was a member of the Red Lake Falls Fire Department, the Sportsmen's Club, Oak Knolls Golf Club and the American Legion. Al was a big supporter of the Red Lake Falls High School Athletics and sponsored his own softball team "Al's Gals".
Al is survived by his sons Vance (Debbie) Buse of Freeland, WA, Todd (Deb Gagner) Buse of Red Lake Falls, MN; grandchildren Nicole (Justin) Maloney, Paulette Buse, Carl (Callie) Buse, Kelsey (Jason) Rogers, Dustin (Loretta) Buse, Carly (Karl) Kleven and Abby (Clayton) Leith: great-grandchildren Morgan and Gabriel Maloney, Logan and Tucker Rogers, Oscar and Gwendolyn Buse, Irving and Beckett Buse and Kole and Lane Kleven.
He is preceded in death by his wife Mae, parents and his sister Jane Pouliot.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Red Lake Falls, Meals on Wheels.
