Aldon Jerrol Johnson was born on April 24, 1923 in Esther Township, near Oslo, MN, the son of Andrew Julius and Melva Jane (Braden) Johnson. He was born and raised ten miles northeast of East Grand Forks. At the age of fourteen years, Aldon obtained his first job working for Art Flynn, driving tractor. A few years later he worked for Frank Jeffery doing carpentry work. In 1951-1955, he worked for Ralph Engelstad in the cement business. He was united in marriage to Rose Kresel, May 20, 1943. On February 26, 1966, Aldon married Audrey Ann Holthusen in Grygla, MN and then resided in Goodridge, MN. After leaving Goodridge in 1969, Aldon and Audrey moved their family to Moundsview, MN where Aldon worked for the Millwrights where he did rigging and erecting of monorails and punch press machines. Aldon retired early in life, at the age of 47, due to a back injury on a job in 1970. At that time he moved his family to Thorhult. In 1996, dued to health reasons, Aldon and Audrey moved to Thief River Falls and then back out to Thorhult in 1999 where they resided at the present time.

Aldon took pleasure in hunting, fishing, gardening and riding around the country with Snork (Trixie), his daschound. He loved the challenge of making home-made wine with anything that he could imagine using. He enjoyed his geese wandering around in the yard and buying all of his kids poinsettias for Christmas. He was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church, rural Grygla.

He is survived by his wife Audrey Johnson, Grygla; children Eileen (Gary) Lian, Warroad, MN, Gwen (Mike) Danielson, Fertile, MN, Voreen Johnson, Thief River Falls, Greg (Valerie) Johnson, Thief River Falls, Sherrlene (Lowell) Watne, Thief River Falls; foster children, Gaylene, Trevor and Jacob, Grygla, MN; grandchildren Robbi Landsrud, Rick Landsrud, Justin Johnson, Jesse Johnson, Jared Johnson, Jason Johnson, David Watne, Reid Landsrud, Nikki Engelstad, Crystal Goulet, Jennifer Ewald, Kailee Hallet, Amy Johnson, Kati Jo Johnson, Callie Puppe, Jaclyn Watne, Brittany Watne, Kassi Anenson; 13 great grandchildren; sister Lorraine Selnes, East Grand Forks, MN and daughter in law Joyce Brantl, St. Thomas, ND.

He was preceded in death by his parents, step father Martin Swenson, son Jerrol, brothers Lawrence and Glen, and grandsons Joshua Johnson and Dallas Johnson.
