Alice Boutain, 85, died Saturday, August 7, 2010 at Pioneer Memorial Care Center, Erskine, MN.

Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, August 12, 2010 at 2:00 PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls with Father Chuck Huck Officiating. Burial will be held in the St. Dorothy Catholic Cemetery at Dorothy, MN.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, one hour prior to services at the church only.

Alice M. Boutain was born March 12, 1925 at St. Hilaire, MN daughter of the late Henry and Theresa (Cuno) Starken. She attended school in Red Lake Falls and graduated from Lafayette High School in 1943. Alice was a waitress in the Red Lake Falls area and moved to Seattle WA and worked for Boeing for two years.

On July 2, 1946, Alice was united in marriage to Donald Boutain at St. Dorothy Catholic Church in Dorothy. The couple made their home near Dorothy where they farmed and raised their family. Alice worked for the sewing plant in Red Lake Falls and also Oklee and worked at Eckstein Hardware in Red Lake Falls for 15 years until her retirement.

Alice was a member of the St. Dorothy Catholic Church and guild and has been a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in guild since the closing of St. Dorothy.

Alice is survived by her husband Donald Boutain of Dorothy, children Lynn Aack of Albuquerque, NM, Karen (Dale) Spann of Sheridan, WY, Connie (Jessie) Valentine of Kalispell, MT, Mary Boutain of Bloomington, IND and David (Carolyn) Boutain of Fargo, ND. Daughter in law Nan Boutain of Red Lake Falls, MN, 13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. One brother Raymond (Elsie) Starken of Davenport, IO and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, son James, 5 sisters Rosaline, Mary, Frances, Eva and Margaret.
