Alice Cormican, 83, died on Wednesday, February 19, 2003 at Hillcrest Nursing Home in Red Lake Falls, MN.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, February 24, 2003 at St. John Lutheran Church in Red Lake Falls, MN with Reverend Jeff Lytle officiating. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery in Red Lake Falls, MN.

Visitation will be from 3:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Sunday, February 23, 2003 at the Johnson-Green Funeral Home in Thief River Falls, MN with a 5:00 P.M. prayer service on Sunday evening and at the church for one hour prior to services on Monday.

Alice Ruby Emeline Arlt was born on February 19, 1920 in Plummer, MN, the daughter of August and Mattie (Gustafson) Arlt. She was baptized and confirmed into the Christian Faith in Plummer, MN, graduating from Plummer School on May 31, 1935.

In 1939 Alice was united in marriage to Henry Hank Konickson in Plummer, MN. The couple made their home near St. Hilaire, MN, where they farmed small grain and livestock. Alice and Henry raised their three children, Gerald, Wayne and Ron in St. Hilaire. Hank died in 1968. Later Alice graduated from LPN School in Thief River Falls. Following school she worked at the Thief River Clinic and later at the Crookston Clinic.

On May 10, 1970 Alice married Vern Cormican in St. John Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls. The couple made their home in Euclid, MN. They enjoyed their time fishing and boating at Springsteel Resort and traveling throughout the United States, attending snowmobile races and dining out on weekends. Alice loved flower gardening, knitting, crocheting and handiwork. She was a wonderful cook and loved to spend time with her family.

Alice is survived by her husband, Vern Cormican of Euclid, MN; two sons: Wayne (Marie) Konickson of Grygla, MN and Ron (Donna) Konickson of St. Hilaire, MN; daughter-in-law, Arlys Konickson of St. Hilaire, MN; eight grandchildren: Kurt, Keith Skeeter and Brad Konickson of St. Hilaire, MN, Vicki (Rick) Stokke, Mike (Barb) Konickson, Janelle (Chad) Nelson, Brenda (John) Hamre, all of Thief River Falls, MN and Chad (Sharon) Konickson of St. Hilaire, MN; ten great grandchildren: Haeli, Morgan and Alaina Stokke, Brady and Avery Hamre, Holden and Wyatt Nelson, Chase and Jade Konickson and Kyle Cormican; one brother, Arnold (Wilma) Arlt of Plummer, MN; one sister, Evelyn Ulrich of Red Lake Falls, MN; two sisters-in-law: Rosemary Arlt of Milaca, MN, Merle Arlt of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Gladys Arlt of Newton, Iowa; step children: LeRoy (Kathy) Cormican of Vancouver, WA, Marilyn Moe of Bemidji, MN, Dale (Sandy) Cormican of Mentor, MN and Della (Ralph) Montreuil of Eucid, MN; step grandchildren: John (Lisa) Cormican, Lilann, Lee Cormican, Randy Goosen, Kim Goosen, Corrie Pilger, Tammie Brule, Brent Goosen, Sheila Steffen, Charles Steffen, Shawn Cormican, Brandon Cormican and Lisa Ramstorf; step great grandchildren: Ashley, Lance, T. J., Robert, Brian, Ethan, Whitney, Ashley, Amanda, Logan, Brittney, Janae, Chastity, Garrett, Zachary, Mara, Lexus and Dustin; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Hank Konickson in October, 1968; one son, Gerald Konickson on May 8, 2002; daughter-in-law, Carol Konickson on October 24, 1995; her parents; one sister, Elnora Aanenson; and three brothers: Art Arlt, Irwin Arlt and Lloyd Arlt.
