Alice Grove, 93, died Friday, July 28, 2006 at Villa St. Vincent, Crookston, MN.

Funeral service will be 10:30 AM, Monday, July 31, 2006 at St. John Lutheran Church, Red Lake Falls, MN with Reverend Rick Hensel officiating. Burial will be 2 PM, Sand Hill Cemetery, Eldred, MN.

Visitation will be 5 " 8 PM, Sunday, July 30, 2006 at Johnson Funeral Service, Red Lake Falls, MN with a 7 PM prayer service and for one hour prior to the service at the church, Monday.

Alice Sylvia Lindem was born June 23, 1913 in Climax, MN, the daughter of Svenung, and Eli Lindem. She was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith. She attended rural school.

On November 4, 1932, Alice was united in marriage to Nordean Grove at Climax, MN. The couple lived in the Climax-Eldred area and later lived in the Red Lake Falls area. The past 6 years, Alice was a resident of Villa St. Vincent Nursing Home, Crookston.

Alice was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Red Lake Falls, MN, Crookston Legion Club and Thief River Falls Elks Club.

She is survived by children: Gary (Mavis) Grove, Red Lake Falls, MN, Levonne Grove, Crookston, MN, Sherlen (Evangeline) Grove, Brooks, MN, Darrell Grove, Bemidji, MN, Don (Cheryl) Grove, Red Lake Falls, MN, Rodney (Diane) Grove, Red Lake Falls, MN and Cheryl (Russell) Hince, Brooks, MN; 22 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren; 8 great, great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law: Alice Wiedemann, Portland, OR, Eleanor Bracken, Portland, OR, Beatrice Swanson, Cedar Rapids, IA and Doreen Grove, Crookston, MN.

Alice is preceded in death by husband, Nordean on December 3, 2002; daughter, Jean Carpenter; grandson, Kevin; parents; sisters, Amelia, Nora, Evelyn and Pauline; brothers, Anton and Sam; son-in-law, Joseph Carpenter.
