Alice Iverson, 94, died Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at MeritCare Thief River Falls Northwest Medical Center, Thief River Falls, MN.

Funeral service will be 11:00 AM, Monday, June 28, 2010 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Thief River Falls, MN with Rev. Bob Dahlen officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Thief River Falls.

Visitation will be 5-8 PM, Sunday, June 27, 2010 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to the funeral service at the church on Monday.

Alice Juliet Olson was born April 5, 1916 to Guttorm and Olga (Bernsten) Olson at Star Township, Erie, MN. The fifth child of nine, Alice attended country school through 8th grade with her siblings. Alice left her family home at the age of 14 years to work for the Roy Wiseth family of rural Goodridge. She later worked in the Ulen area as a domestic.

On October 6, 1936, Alice married Irvin Conrad Iverson at Goodridge, MN. Alice & Irvin settled on a farm near Goodridge where they raised their five children: Conrad, Leon, Allen, Elaine, and Judy. Alice was a homemaker her entire life. She enjoyed sewing and making quilts, tending a garden, berry picking, canning fruits and vegetables. Alice was an active member of the Goodridge Lutheran Church where she participated in Ladies Aid and teaching Sunday School. They moved to Thief River Falls in 1974 and joined Trinity Lutheran Church where their membership continues. Alice and Irvin moved to Valley Home in February of this year.

She is survived by her husband of 73 years, Irvin Iverson, sons: Leon (Sharon) Iverson, Thief River Falls, MN, Allen (Susan) Iverson, Chisholm, MN, daughters: Elaine (Harold) Skreland, Inver Grove Heights, MN, Judy Briski, Hibbing, MN, daughter in law Sharon Iverson, Chanhassen, MN, 12 grandchildren: Danny Iverson, Loralee Iverson, Rosalee Dahlen, Roxanne Iverson, Rhonda Haugen, Nancy Stockman, Brenda Beckwith, Todd Iverson, Aaron Skreland, Sara Clark, Katey Hoshaw, and Karina Briski; 16 great grandchildren: 8 great great grandchildren; sister Evelyn Larson, Moorhead, MN, brother Archie (Donna) Olson, Blaine, MN, sisters in law: Shirley Olson, Seattle, WA, Edna McEnelly, Thief River Falls, MN, Evelyn Manderud, Fergus Falls, MN, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents, one son Conrad Iverson, grandson Mark Skreland, brothers Orris, Gustav, Bennie, and Gilman Olson, sisters Clara and Hannah, as well as sisters and brothers in law Mollie Olson, Adolph Larson, Myrtle Olson, Earl Larson, and Norman Larson, and Oliver McEnelly, Garfield and Sena Iverson, Julia and Morris Quam, and Clarence Manderud.
