ALICE MOEN, 89 of Hibbing, MN formerly of Oklee, MN died on Tuesday, July 21, 1998 at Golden Crest Nursing Home in Hibbing, MN.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 25, 1998 at 2:00 PM at Salem Lutheran Church near Oklee, MN with Reverend Terri Cuppett Officiating. Burial will be held in the church Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Friday, from 5 " 8 PM with a 7:30 prayer service at the Petterson Funeral home in Oklee, MN and also one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
Alice Jeanette Moen was born December 7, 1908 on her family homestead in Hickory Township, MN daughter of Christian and Mathelda (Larson) Christianson where she was raised and attended school. She also attended one year of cosmetology in Fargo, ND. On September 3, 1939 she was untied in marriage to Henry Moen in Hickory Township near Oklee. The couple lived and farmed near Harwood, ND until 1941 when they moved to a farm 9 ½ miles north of Oklee where they farmed and lived until 1991 when they moved into Oklee and resided there until February 28, 1998 when they moved to Hibbing, MN. Alice worked at the Oklee Manufacturing for 2 years and also Arctic Cat in Thief River Falls for 8 years.
She was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid, she also taught Sunday School there.
Alice is survived by her husband Henry of Hibbing, MN: children Beverly Bakken (Stanley) of Hibbing, MN; Bruce Moen of Oklee, MN; Clyde Moen (Laura) of Thief River Falls, MN and Clayton Moen (Jacqueline) of Rochester, MN: 9 grandchildren Kelly, Jason, Daren, David, Jennifer, Carol, Jon, Nathan, Janel: 10 great-grandchildren Macy, Asia, Alysa, Henry, Amanda, Meghin, Dylan, Tiffany, Cardeay, Steven. One brother Orville Christianson of Thief River Falls, MN and one sister Mae Roed of McIntosh, MN: several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, great-grandson Mitchell, two brothers Carl and Merritt: two sisters Mable and Gladys.
