Alice Marion Thune passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2024 at Greenleaf Assisted living in Thief River Falls, MN.

Funeral service for Alice will be held 2:00 PM on Monday, January 15, 2024 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls with Reverend Betty Johnson officiating. Burial will be held at a later date in Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Monday.

Alice Marion Thune was born on September 30, 1926 in Deer Park Township, Pennington County, MN daughter of the late John and Janette (Jacobson) Helle. She attended country school in rural Thief River Falls. Alice moved to Devils Lake, ND where she worked as a waitress.

Alice was united in marriage to Grover Ferman, to this union two children were born Virginia and Garry.

Alice moved back to Thief River Falls where she was employed at Arctic Cat. Alice was united in marriage to Ernest Thune on July 20, 1963 in Thief River Falls, to this union a son Jeffrey was born. The couple lived in Thief River Falls where they owned and operated the Hearing Aid Center.

Alice enjoyed gardening and canning, sewing and especially enjoyed time spent with family.

Alice is survived by her daughter Virginia Stensrud of Thief River Falls, MN and son Jeffrey (Nancy Roberts) Thune of Prior Lake, MN; granddaughter Stephanie (Rob) Finstad of Thief River Falls, MN; great-grandchildren Dylan Finstad, Jerzie Finstad and Mylah Finstad; siblings Dan Helle of Waconia, MN and Gerald (Jean) Helle of Thief River Falls, MN; along with several nieces and nephews.

Alice is preceded in death by her husband Ernie Thune, her parents John and Janette Helle, son Garry Ferman, sister Laura Cariveau and brothers Norman Helle, Lester Helle and Harvey Helle.
