Alinda Lindy Olson, 97, died on Monday, September 27, 2010 at Edgewood Vista in Brainerd, MN.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M. on Friday October 1, 2010 at Abundant Life Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls, MN with Reverend Wesley Langaas officiating. Burial will be immediately following the service Greenwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday September 30, 2010 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN with a 7:00 P.M. Prayer service on Thursday evening. Visitation will also be one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.

Alinda Lindy Bertha Jablinske was born on April 12, 1913, the second of 13 children, in Truman, MN, the daughter of Minnie and Rudolph (Meyer) Jablinske. She was baptized and confirmed in Truman, MN at St. Johns Lutheran Church and attended a German School through 4th Grade in Truman. She then attended Daisydale Grade School and Oak Grove School, both in Sanders Township, west of Thief River Falls. Lindy met her future husband, Glen Olson, at a Pie Social and the couple exchanged letters for over a year before their engagement. Lindy and Glen were united in marriage on June 25, 1933 and made their home in rural Thief River Falls, where they owned and operated a dairy farm for over 40 years.

Lindy enjoyed spending time with her family, baking and gardening. She also enjoyed quilting and crocheting with her church circle at Abundant Life Lutheran Church. Lindy relocated to Brainerd in 1999. She was living at Edgewood Vista when she peacefully passed in her sleep.

Lindy is survived by her son, Ronald (Kathy) Olson of Nisswa, MN, daughter-in-law, Joyce (wife of Ervin) Olson of Thief River Falls, MN; grandchildren: Paul Olson, Tron Olson (Kelly), Brent Olson (Cassandra), Kristin Olson (Rick), Stephanie Lastovich (Steve), Tricia Janousek and Joseph Richmond (Amanda); Great Grandchildren: Jennifer Bourassa, Aaron Olson, Garrett, Chelsey and Kyle Olson, Blaine Murphy, Lucas Olson, Nathan Eanes, Desmond, Devin and Beau Janousek and Tallulah, Jasper, and Ashby Richmond; great-great grandchild, Alyssa Bourassa; one sister, Lydia Sparrs of Washington State; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen, on March 16, 1994; one son, Ervin on November 6, 1998; 11 siblings: Wilbert Willie Jablinske, Marie Peterson, Alvin Bob Jablinske, Maynard Jablinske, Lawrence Larry Jablinske, Adolph Art Jablinske, Herbert Bud Jablinske, Elroy Pal Jablinske, Leslie Jablinske, Melvina Dee Dee Owens and an infant sister.
