Allan Walter Boughton was born on November 22, 1922 in Fargo, ND to Floyd and Olive (Freeburg) Boughton. He was raised and educated in Spencer Township.

Allan was united in marriage to Mayme Smith on November 12, 1943 in Minot, ND. They lived and farmed on the family farm from 1943-1962. They then moved to Kenmare, ND where Allan worked for EsCaDel Equipment. In 1972 they moved to Thief River Falls where Allan was employed at the Fleet Farm Supply. After retiring he worked for Home Lumber of Thief River Falls and Wallace Hanson of Viking. Allan enjoyed his hobbies of hunting and woodworking.

Allan was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Eagles Club Aerie #2368, Kiwanis Club, and the Pennington County Sportsmans Club.

Allan is survived by his wife Mayme, two sons: Ronald (Wilma), Kenmare, ND; Gary (Karen), Dent, MN; and one daughter Janet (KJ) Sullivan, Mandan, ND; seven grandchildren: Bryce, Stacy, Nicole, Jason, Kristen, Kara, Scott, & families, eight step grandchildren, Tim, Gary, Jeffrey, & Donna Andersen & families, John, Christopher, Nathan, & Matthew Watercott, & families, 16 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Allan was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and five sisters.
