Allan Wilson, 59, died on Sunday, March 6, 2011 at his home in Thief River Falls, MN.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Friday, March 11, 2011 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls, MN with Rev. Benjamin Carlsen officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Thief River Falls.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 PM, Thursday, March 10, 2011 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to the funeral service at the church on Friday.

Allan Ray Wilson was born on March 13, 1951 to William John and MayBelle Elizabeth (Schaller) Wilson in Greenbush, MN. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith in Greenbush. He attended school there and graduated from Greenbush High School in 1969. He then went on to the AVTI in Thief River Falls for welding in 1970. Al began working for the city of Thief River Falls in 1971 in the street department. He soon after that transferred to the water department and worked there until retiring in 2006.

Allan was united in marriage to Helen Louise Streich on April 29, 1972 at Zion Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls. Al had a love for farming and worked for various farmers in the area for many years. He had a passion for John Deere tractors. Al also liked collecting fine automobiles and fixing on them. His Man Cave or garage was where he was the most happiest. He spent hours out there tinkering and fixing on many different things. He loved his grandchildren and had a nickname for all of them. He also liked driving around the countryside and checking out the sights. Al was a member of the Street Wizards Car Club.

Al is survived by his wife Helen, Thief River Falls, MN, 2 children: Michael (Romayne) Wilson, Thief River Falls, MN, Michelle (Edwin) Zimmerman, Thief River Falls, MN, 6 grandchildren: Kristin Wilson, Mercedes Wilson, Ethan Zimmerman, Zachary Wilson, Madison Zimmerman, and Claire Wilson, 6 siblings: Gary (Vickie) Wilson, Greenbush, MN, Ward (Dawn) Wilson, Greenbush, MN, Ronald (Georgianne) Wilson, Plover, WI, Weldon (Corrine) Wilson, St. Cloud, MN, Vivian Dvergsten, Greenbush, MN, and Arlene Wilson.

Al was preceded in by his parents.
