Allen C. Jones, 89, died Saturday, May 7, 2005 at Oakland Park Nursing Home, Thief River Falls, MN.

Allen Conrad Jones was born September 25, 1915 in Moylan Township, Marshall County, MN, the son of William and Gena (Johnson) Jones. He was baptized and confirmed at Germantown Church. He grew up and attended Mayflower School.

On July 28, 1937, Allen was united in marriage to Myrtle Tveten at the parsonage in Mavie, MN. He continued to live on the Jones Farm for a couple of years. He then farmed for 3 years in Grygla, MN and trapped during the winter. Later the couple moved to a farm in Agder Township.

Allen opened a blacksmith shop in Goodridge, MN and operated it for 5 years. He then work as a janitor in the school and worked for the Carl Elg shop for 3 years. Allen and his brother, Casper opened and operated an auto repair shop and later, Allen would work in a machine shop in Grafton, ND for 3 years. He worked at Arctic Cat for 9 years, when he, Wallace, Casper and Raymond started a shop building barrel stoves, meat saws and rock pickers. One year Allen used over a ton of welding rods. He also did retirement farm work for Harvey Troska. Myrtle died in 1986.

January 28, 1990, Allen married Ruth Gausen and they continued to live in Goodridge. This past January they moved into Thief River Falls, MN. Work was Allens hobby. He enjoyed dancing, playing the organ and violin.

Survived by wife, Ruth, Thief River Falls, MN; son, Ray Jones, Goodridge, MN; daughter, Dolly (Wallace) Heaton, Thief River Falls, MN; grandsons, Gary, Brian, Bruce and Sherman Jones, Kent, Kraig and Kurt Kainz, Ray Jr. and Dennis Jones, David and Casey Jones , stepchildren, Char Carrillo, Thief River Falls, MN, Roberta (Phil) Clar, Redding, CA and Gary (Mary) Gausen, Fort Jones, CA; daughter-in-law, Jan Delong, Goodridge, MN; several step grandchildren and numerous step great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by first wife, Myrtle, son, Wallace in 1999, 3 grandsons, AlRay, Harlan and Wallace Jones, Jr., parents, sister, Elida Hanson and brother, Casper.
