Alvin Sunsdahl of Goodridge, MN passed away on Sunday, November 29, 2020 at Sanford Hospital in Fargo, ND.

Graveside service for Alvin will be held at 1:00PM Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at Ekelund Lutheran Church Cemetery, Rural Goodridge, MN with Reverend Kristin Ostercamp officiating.

Alvin Holver Sunsdahl was born December 19, 1938 at Goodridge, son of Henry and Gertie (Bjornaraa) Sunsdahl. He was baptized and confirmed at Ekelund Lutheran Church near Goodridge, MN. He attended school in Star Township, Pennington County, MN. He then went to work on the family farm.

On February 20, 1960 he was united in marriage to Sharyl Hesse at St. Petri Church near Grygla, MN. To this union 5 children were born Ricky, Shelly, Valerie, Richard and Roy.   The couple moved to Hibbing, MN where Alvin was employed with the railroad. After a few short years living in Hibbing they returned to the family farm where Alvin and Sharyl raised their family and worked on the farm.

In 1974 Alvin bought the family farm where he had a dairy farm and raised the family until 1985.

In 1985 Alvin and Sharyl with their family moved to Williams, MN. Alvin worked at Polaris for a few years and later started work at Marvin Windows where he retired from in 2000. He then moved back to Goodridge, MN to the family farm which he always considered home to help the local farmers in the fields. He looked forward to meeting up with the guys for their morning coffee.

Alvin leaves to mourn his loving wife of 60 years Sharyl; children Shelly (Tom) Nelson of Baudette, MN, Richard (Carla) Sunsdahl of Badger, MN, Roy (Mary) Sunsdahl of Salol, MN; grandchildren Garrett Nelson, Whitney Nelson, Garrett Anhorn, Brody Anhorn, Logan Sunsdahl, Shanda Christofferson, Cory Christofferson and his four legged friend Sal; siblings Emma Kapla of Hibbing, MN and Janice (Orrin) Haugen of Duluth, MN; sister-in-law Sandy Sunsdahl; along with many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, children Ricky and Valerie; brothers Hubert (Lila) Sunsdahl, Virgil "Bud" (JoAnn) Sunsdahl, George "Mick" Sunsdahl, Roy Sunsdahl, Floyd (Vivian) Sunsdahl and Obert Sunsdahl.
