Alvin Wold, 82, died Monday, April 10, 2006 at his home in Thief River Falls, MN at the age of 82 years, 3 months and 25 days. May his memory be blessed.
Alvin Orville Wold was born December 13, 1923 at Thief River Falls, the son of Adolph and Octavia (Bredeson) Wold. He was baptized and confirmed into the Christian Faith. He attended Oak Grove School in Sanders Township and an honorary graduate of 2002, Lincoln High School. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II.
On June 29, 1947, Alvin was united in marriage to Pearl Swanson at the Enoch Swanson farm. He worked at the grain elevator for 11 years, manager of Shetlers Feed Mill for 14 years, co-owner of Bob and Als Gulf Service Station and in 1975, he built and managed a mechanic shop by their home.
Alvin sang in the church choir and was a member of the American Legion for 44 years. He enjoyed collecting trains, mice, either ceramic, glass, etc, coins and attending auction sales. Also in his collection is an Allis Chalmers Tractor, model cars and harmonicas. Alvin waited on tables at the Legion on Saturday mornings until 2005.
Alvin is survived by daughter, Bonnie (Ken) Judes, Gillette, WY; son, Bob (Patty Keefe) Wold, Thief River Falls, MN; grandchildren, Brian Judes, Spearfish, SD, Greg (Ronda) Judes, Gilbert, AZ, Jennifer (Clint) Petersen, Gillette, WY, Kyle Wold, Duluth, MN and Kari Wold, Thief River Falls, MN; great grandchildren, Cole, Olivia, and Carleigh Judes, Spearfish, SD, Conner and Chantz Judes, Gilbert, AZ, Vance and Gavin Peterson, Gillette, WY; brother, Virgil (Dorothy) Wold, Thief River Falls, MN; sister, Mildred Peterson, Thief River Falls, MN.
He is preceded in death by wife, Pearl on September 28, 2000; a foster son, Kelly Wold; brothers, Francis, Bernard, Selmer and Vernon.
