Alvina Vik, 89 died on Sunday, August 20, 2006 at Bethany Homes in Fargo, North Dakota
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2006 " 10:00 AM at Calvary Lutheran Church, St. Hilaire, MN with Pastor Terri Cuppett, officiating. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery, St. Hilaire, MN.
Visitation will be held on Friday 5:00 " 8:00 PM with a prayer service held at 7:00 PM at Johnson Funeral Service, Thief River Falls, MN one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
Alvina Margaret Wilson was born July 30, 1917 at Wyandotte Township, Pennington County, MN, the daughter of Oscar Emil and Sarah (Brandrud) Wilson. She was baptized August 19, 1917 and confirmed November 30, 1930 at Clearwater Lutheran Church. Alvina attended Wyandotte Township #6 School and attended Lincoln High School in Thief River Falls, MN.
On June 17, 1944, Alvina was united in marriage to Arthur Vik at Clearwater Lutheran Church. Alvina was a homemaker and the couple made their home and farmed north of St. Hilaire, MN. Arthur died in 1991. In 1997, she moved to Thief River Falls and in March of 2005, she moved to Bethany Homes in Fargo following a stroke.
Alvina was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, the L.C.W and church council. She taught Sunday School and was a leader of the Luther League. She liked to cook, bake (especially ginger cookies), read, feed the birds and deer, work on puzzles, family history and photo albums.
She is survived by her family: Jim and Cathy Vik, Marge and Ben Bendickson, John and Clarice Vik, Sherri and Jim Olstad, Tony and Barb Vik and Don Gravelle; 11 grandchildren and 20 great and great- great- grandchildren.
Alvina is preceded in death by husband, Arthur on September 8, 1991; parents; sister, Selma Wik and brother, Goodwin Wilson.
