Alyce Geske, 90, died on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at Sanford Hospital in Thief River Falls, MN.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2011 at 11:00AM at St. John Lutheran Church, Thief River Falls, MN with Reverend Aaron Zuch officiating.  Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Thief River Falls.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, with a 7:30 Prayer Service on Friday, September 30, 2011, at Johnson Funeral Service, Thief River Falls, and also one hour prior to the funeral service at the church.

Alyce Martha Geske was born September 20, 1920 at Thief River Falls, MN, the daughter of Otto and Minnie (Borgen) Geske.  She was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church, Thief River Falls.  She attended Knox Elementary School, Central School and graduated in 1938 from Lincoln High School, Thief River Falls.

Alyce was employed for 43 years at Pennington County Welfare Department, retiring in 1982.

She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Thief River Falls and the Red Hat Society of Summerfield Place.  Her favorite pastime was reading.

Alyce is survived by her brother, Lloyd Geske, St. Paul, MN; niece, Ashlyn (Larry) Hall, Minot, ND; nephew, Dr. Steven (Marilyn) Honebrink, St. Cloud, MN, along with numerous great nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews, and her very dear friends at Summerfield Place.

She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Myrtle Mickey Honebrink; brother-in-law, Sam Honebrink, and sister-in-law, Clarice Geske.
