Anna Morkrid, 81, died on Friday, August 13, 2004 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls, MN.

Anna Marie Severson was born on April 16, 1923 in Adler Township, near Petersburg, ND, the daughter of Einar and Kari (Rusten) Severson. She was baptized and confirmed at Lom Lutheran Church, near Petersburg. She attended Grade School at Adler Country School and graduated from Petersburg High School.

Anna was united in marriage to Gerald Allan Morkrid on June 20, 1953 in Petersburg. The couple made their home in Petersburg for five years before moving to Georgetown, MN for a couple of years. They moved to St. Hilaire, MN in 1957 and then to Thief River Falls in 1964. Anna and Gerald moved to Missouri, where Gerald worked on the Missile Fields. They transferred to Cheyenne, WY and then to Minot, ND for 6 months, before moving back to Thief River Falls in 1970.

Anna was a waitress at Ivers Caf for a couple of years and she loved to babysit her grandchildren. She enjoyed baking, watching the Minnesota Vikings and Minnesota Twins, playing Bingo and taking care of her grandchildren.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid.

Anna is survived by her husband, Gerald of Thief River Falls, MN; three children: Allan (Roselynn) Morkrid, Patty Sabol and her fianc Bryan Larson and Cindy (Jon) Nessen, all of Thief River Falls, MN; grandchildren: Joey (Sarah) Sabol, Jamie (Bryan) Cleven, Amber Morkrid, Ashley Morkrid, Sarah (Ross) Ryan, Becky (Lance) Reierson, Rachel (John) Cox, Samuel Harger, Tyler, Parker, Tanner and Brady Nessen, Alison Larson, Alex Larson and Steven Larson; great grandchildren: Mercede Cleven, Hannah Cleven, Cayley Sabol, Blaine Sabol, Brittyn Reierson and Sydney Reierson; one brother, Norman Severson of Petersburg, ND; two sisters: June (Ellsworth) Sundre of Petersburg, ND and Clara Fredrickson of Petersburg, ND; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Leonard, Paul and Vernon; sister-in-law, Delores Severson; and brother-in-law, Lloyd Fredrickson
