Pauline Ptacek, 81, of Thief River Falls, MN, died on Monday, April 4, 2005 at the CNC unit of the Northwest Medical Center.

Funeral services will be 11 AM, Saturday, April 9, 2005 at New Life Family Worship Center, Thief River Falls, MN, with Reverend William Rust officiating. Burial at Greenwood Cemetery, Thief River Falls, MN.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church, Saturday

Anna Pauline Erickson was born April 6, 1923, at Warren, MN, the daughter of John and Anna Pauline (Peterson) Erickson. Paulines mother died during her birth, and she was cared for by her aunt and uncle, Esther and Einar Johnson. She was baptized and confirmed at the Covenant Church in Thief River Falls. Pauline attended school in Thief River Falls and completed her senior year of high school in Warren, graduating in 1942. She then attended nurses training in Fargo, ND and worked in a hospital. She worked at the Princeton Childrens Home for 2 years. She returned to Thief River Falls, MN, where she lived with her parents, John and Esther until she married. Pauline worked as a dental hygienist/assistant for many years. She then worked as an aid at Lincoln High School and at the Christian Academy.

On September 15, 1958, Pauline was united in marriage to Archie Lloyd Ptacek in Thief River Falls, MN. The couple built a home on a farm in Goodridge, MN. Pauline became a resident of CNC since February 26, 1996.

She was a member of New Life Family Worship Center, Thief River Falls, MN and their Ladies Aid and also helped at Our Saviours Academy. She enjoyed crocheting, needle-work, crossword puzzles, working in the church nursery, yard work and mowing. She was dedicated to young children.

Survived by 4 step-children, Wayne (Noi) Ptacek, Fairbanks, AK, Renae (Frank) Stemper, Becker, MN, Dennis (Becky) Ptacek, Thief River Falls, MN and Wanda (Lew) Wood, North Pole, AK; 7 grandchildren, Nathan, Derek and Carissa Ptacek, Nicolas (Jolene) Stemper, Michelle Stemper, Lynsie and Lori Wood; a great grandson, Brock Stemper; sister, Genevieve (John) Bowman, Minneapolis, MN; brothers, Charles (Nona) Erickson, Alexandria, MN and James (Marilyn) Erickson, Alexandria, MN; brothers-in-law, Nels Holmberg, Thief River Falls, MN, Wallace Ptacek, Thief River Falls, MN, Harold (Ione) Ptacek, Babbitt, MN and sister-in-law, Louise Brezney, Thief River Falls, MN; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Preceded in death by husband, Archie, February 11, 1983, parents, John and Anna Erickson, step-mother, Esther Erickson, sister, Edla Holmberg, brother and sister-in-law, Mendell and Dorothy Erickson and brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Ardith Ptacek.
