Obituary

Mary Veronica Anne LaVoie was born October 22, 1931 in Plummer, MN the daughter of Napoleon Paul and Blanche (Corneau) LaVoie. She was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith. Anne attended school in Plummer, MN and during her high school years spent two years at St. Joseph Academy in Crookston, MN and graduated from Pershing High School in Plummer in 1949 as valedictorian.

On May 13, 1950 she was united in marriage to Theodore Teddy Jaeger in Plummer at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Plummer. The couple lived a short time in Thief River Falls, MN and in 1954 they moved to Plummer where they continued to make their home. In 1971 following Teddys death, Anne went to college at U.M.C. and took business courses which lead her to her state job with C.E.T.A. in Thief River Falls and later she worked in taxpayer assistance for the State of Minnesota in St. Paul, MN. She semi-retired in 1999 and went back part time until 2007.

Anne was very active through the years, she served on the city council and was currently serving as Mayor of Plummer, was treasurer for Senator LeRoy Stumpf for many years, and belonged to the Red Hats, Homemakers Club, Garden Club, was Pres. of the Senior Citizens, served on the Northwest Council on Aging, Auxiliary and the Northwest Regional Development Corp.

Anne enjoyed computer solitaire, sewing, reading, gardening, watching television, especially sports, Wheel of Fortune, and Law And Order. She also loved watching her children and grandchildren play sports, attending church functions, and having coffee with the ladies at the caf. She made sure everyone in her family got birthday cards and Christmas presents, and was a loving kind, caring, compassionate person who was dedicated to her church. Family was Annes lifeshe was a great inspiration to all of them.

Survivors include children, Greg (Colleen) Jaeger of St. Paul, MN, Linda Lorenson of Plummer, Kathi Jaeger of Plummer, Jeff (Phuong) Jaeger of St. Paul, MN, Janet (Richard) Johnson of Lindstrom, MN, Cindy (Gary) Jaeger-Arlt of Plummer, Mary (special friend, Mark Brede) Jaeger of Alexandria, MN, Paul Jaeger of Billings, MT, Helen (special friend, Steve Konickson) Jaeger of Thief River Falls, Sheila (Mark) Holen of Thief River Falls and Tony Jaeger of St. Croix Falls, WI; 16 grandchildren, Angie Jaeger, Faye (Rodney) Wold, Teri (Jason) Clark, Dougie Willett, Lacey Willett, Cory (Kristina) Johnson, Benji (special friend, Val Hollingsworth) Johnson, Dusty (Trisha) Johnson, Mike (Abby) Shetler, Nicole Skime, Tyler (special friend, Jenna Dokkin) Holen, Kaley Holen, Madison Holen, Jordan Jaeger, Christopher Jaeger and Kayla Jaeger; 15 great-grandchildren, Courtney and Dylan Wold, Jason II, Justin, Abby and Joseph Clark, Anneka and Lane Johnson, Sammy and Tony Bothman, Tyler and Cody Johnson, Hailey, Alexis and Jayden Brekke; brother-in-law, James (Shirley) Jaeger; sisters-in-law, Margaret Greenwald and Mary Ann Gagner; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband; son, Joseph in 2002; parents; and brothers, Willard, Clarence and Orben; brothers-in-law, Howard Greenwald, Joseph Jaeger, Harvey Gagner and Wallace Erickson; and sister-in-law, Audrey Jaeger.

Anne Jaeger died on Thursday, July 31, 2008 at her home in Plummer, MN at the age of 76 years, 9 months and 9 days. May her memory be blessed.
