Obituary

Anne Kraemer, 86, died Saturday, March 21, 2009 at her daughters home in East Grand Forks, MN under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:00 PM Saturday, March 28, 2009 at St. Bernards Church, Thief River Falls, MN with Monsignor Timothy McGee presiding. Concelebrants are Monsignor Roger Grundhaus, and Father Bob LaPlante. Burial will be at St. Bernards Catholic Cemetery, Thief River Falls, MN.

Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM on Friday, March 27, 2009 with Deacon John Eisbrener presiding, at St. Bernards Catholic Church in Thief River Falls, MN. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to the funeral Mass on Saturday.

Anne Louise Hillyer was born November 6, 1922 to Claude Augustus and Margaret Meyers Hillyer at their family home in Excel Township, Marshall County, Minnesota. She graduated from Lincoln High School in Thief River Falls, class of 1940. Following graduation she was employed at LB Hartz in the billing office. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Bernards Catholic Church in Thief River Falls and was united in marriage to Robert Michael Kraemer on May 13, 1944.

They established their family dairy and small-grain farm in Smiley Township along the Red Lake River. To this union 6 children were born. JoAnn (Marc) Pream of Rochester, MN, Mary (Wayne) Ness of Ramsey, MN, Michael (Peggy) Kraemer of Thief River Falls, MN, Jean (Steve) Moulds of East Grand Forks, MN, Claudia (Wayne) Bendickson of Baudette, MN, and Michelle (Jerry) Paulson of Detroit Lakes, MN. She devoted the remainder of her life to being a housewife, mother, and grandmother to 17 grandchildren; Stephanie, Rachael, Janelle, Jennifer, Brian, Ryan, Matthew, Katie, Tania, Lisa, Kelli, Tony, Sam, Eric, Bridget, Summer and Nicholas. There are 23 great grandchildren; Katelyn, Cole, Madison, Garrett, Hannah, Erin, Ayden, Abigail, Maizy, Sophia, Avery, Maxwell, Anna, Jack, Sara, Alexander, Jacob, Owen, Quinten, Makayla, Chandler, Katie and Bree.

She was a member of St. Bernards Church, Circle group, Homemakers Club and Cursillo. Her hobbies and interests were reading, sewing, quilting, needlework, gardening, flea-marketing, antiquing, playing piano, gracious entertaining and sharing her wonderful home-style cooking.

She is survived by her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, and one brother James (Florence) Hillyer of Thief River Falls. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings; Eunice McComas, Edson Hillyer, Robert Hillyer, Dr. Irvin Hillyer, Father Jacob Hillyer OSB, and Lowell Hillyer.
