Annie Ann Hanson 90, of Red Lake Falls, MN died on Saturday, March 11, 2006 at Hillcrest Nursing Home in Red Lake Falls.
Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, March 17, 2006 at 1:30 PM in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls with Father Tim Bushy Officiating. Burial will be held in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery near Red Lake Falls.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, from 5:00 until 8:00 PM with a prayer service held at 7:00 PM at Johnson Funeral Service in Red Lake Falls and on Friday one hour prior to the service in the church.
Annie Ann Kuchan was born March 22, 1915 at Toluca, IL daughter of the late Peter and Amelia (Blazina) Kuchan. She and her family lived in Illinois until the early 1920s when they moved to the Red Lake Falls area. On March 1, 1938 she was united in marriage to John O. Hanson at St. Dorothy Catholic Church in Dorothy, MN. She and John farmed their entire life near Red Lake Falls. John O. passed away April 5, 1990, Annie continued to live on the farm until recently moving into Hillcrest Nursing Home in Red Lake Falls.
Annie was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls and the Guild. She enjoyed flower gardening and always had a big vegetable garden and was famous for her pickles. She was a member of the Do and Learn Homemaker club, the VFW Legion Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary. She very much enjoyed quilting, making many of them.
Annie is survived by her four sons Patrick (Paulette) Hanson of Red Lake Falls, MN; Joseph (Shirley) Hanson of Red Lake Falls, MN; Paul (Kathy) Hanson of Crookston, MN and John H. Hanson of Red Lake Falls, MN and special family friend Linda Hanson. She is survived by 15 grandchildren Scott, Timothy, Wayne, Randy, Pamela, Kevin, Steven, Michelle, Jennifer, Nancy, Jason, Diana, Alex, Shannon and Dustin: twenty two great-grandchildren. One brother Peter Kuchan of Crookston, MN; two sisters Elsie Greenhough of Boise, ID and Helen Zanette of Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada: on sister in law Millie Kuchan and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents Peter and Amelia; husband John O. Hanson; an infant son; brothers Tony Kuchan, John Kuchan and Charles Kuchan and one sister Mary Meyer.
