Obituary

Ardith Soiney 79, of Warroad, MN formerly of Thief River Falls, MN died on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at the Warroad Care Center in Warroad, MN. Funeral service will be held Friday, August 23, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls, MN with Reverend Mark Helgeland and Reverend Ben Carlson officiating. Burial will follow at Park Ridge Cemetery, rural Thief River Falls, MN. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to services at the church. Ardith Faye Hartman was born April 1, 1934, on Easter Sunday, the daughter of Henry and Florence (Rife) Hartman. She was baptized and confirmed at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls, MN and graduated from Lafayette High School in Red Lake Falls, MN. She then attended Summer School in Valley City, ND and taught Country School for one year at Mandan, ND. In 1954 Ardith moved to the Twin Cities to attend Glenwood Hills School of Nursing. In 1956 Ardith then moved to Crookston, MN to attend Bethesda School of Nursing. While attending school in Crookston, Ardith met George Soiney and the couple married December 30, 1956. They made their home in Thief River Falls and to this union three sons were born, Wesley, Ross and Ronald. Ardith worked during the winter months at Northwestern Hospital in Thief River Falls where she specialized in babiesArdith worked in the nursery. George was home from construction during those months, so he could take care of the kids. She enjoyed working with plants, reading, feeding the birds, and visiting. She always had cats, dogs and various other animals around the house. Ardith also loved to spend time at Itasca State Park. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. Ardith is survived by one son, Ross Soiney of Warroad, MN; two grandchildren, Nick and Ryan Soiney of Swift, MN; one brother, Darryl Hartman of St. Louis, MO; three nephews; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, George, in 2003; two sons, Wesley in 1990 and Ronald in 2007; and her parents. Family condolences may be sent to www.johnsonfuneralservice.com
