Arlene Kotrba, 75, Thief River Falls, passed away on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at Thief River Care Center, Thief River Falls, MN.

Funeral for Arlene will be held 11 AM on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN with Reverend Kristin Ostercamp officiating. Burial will be held at Highlanding Cemetery, Highlanding, MN.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Wednesday.

Arlene Marie Schwope was born March 19, 1948 at Berthold, ND daughter of Lyle and Verna (Haugen) Schwope. She was raised by her aunt and uncle Doug and Jane Miller in the Grygla area. She attended school in Grygla, Reno, Nevada and Goodridge, MN. Arlene received a degree in Arts from Northland Community and Technical College.

On September 21, 1964 she was united in marriage to Charles Acree in Reno, NV, to this union Marie Janette Acree was born.

In April of 1967  she was united in marriage to John Kotrba at Goodridge, MN, to this union Tracy James Kotrba, Melanie Lynn Kotrba, Desiree Ann Kotrba, Misty Dawn Kotrba were born. They lived in Goodridge, she worked at Arctic Cat and was a farm wife. She also worked for the Thief River Falls law enforcement as a jailer. She worked at the Thief River Falls hospital in the laundry and before retirement she was employed at Arby's in Thief River Falls, MN.

Arlene enjoyed gardening, crocheting, knitting and sewing, and playing bingo. Most of all she enjoyed visiting and giving people a hard time.

Arlene is survived by her children Marie (Aaron) Hanson of Roseau, MN, Tracy (Tammy) Kotrba of Thief River Falls, MN, Melanie (Darryl) Boutain of Roseau, MN, Desiree (Bruce) Konickson of Goodridge, MN and Misty Kotrba of Crookston, MN; grandchildren Betsy (Keane), Reed (Missy), Devin, Crystal, Cassi (Devan), Lexi (Jake), Kourtney (Jacob), Kalie (Zach); great-grandchildren Emma, Ave, Ellie, Jace, Raya, Hudson, Miles, Shelby; mother Verna Oly of Reno, NV; siblings Mona Eads of Reno, NV, Randy Clinger of Reno, NV, David Eads of Reno, NV, Rebecca Childs of Reno, NV, Renae Enhelder of Reno, NV, Rosie Enhelder of Reno, NV; step brother Ricky (Janet) Miller of Indiana, alone with several nieces and nephews.

Arlene is preceded in death by her father Lyle Schwope, aunt and uncle Doug and Jane Miller, brother Duane Eads, step-brother Steven.
