Arlene Skoglund, 69, of Holt, passed away peacefully on April 5, 2005 at Karlstad Healthcare Center after a long, incurable illness


Arlene was born April 9, 1935 to Edgar and Hilma (Nohre) Horien. She was baptized and confirmed at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Holt. Arlene attended school in Holt and Newfolden.

On May 11, 1952, she was united in marriage to Wilbert (Bob) Skoglund. They made their home in Holt where they raised their three children.

Arlene had many interests and a zest for life. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing and had a variety of craft projects going at any given time. Arlene loved the spring and summer when she could be outside working in her numerous flower gardens. Arlene loved to bake and spend time with her family. She especially enjoyed spending time with her two granddaughters, Asiah and Aspyn. Arlene will be greatly missed by her friends and loved ones.

Arlene is survived by her husband, Bob; daughter, Robyn (Leon) Derebery of Pottsboro, TX; sons, Randy (Jean) Skoglund and Ryan (special friend, Karen) Skoglund of Holt, MN; sister, Darlene Hallstrom of Moorhead, MN; two brothers, Emery (Millie) Horien and Marc (Shirley) Horien of rural Holt, MN; two granddaughters, Asiah and Aspyn Derebery of Pottsboro, TX; several nieces and nephew.
