Arlyce Twistol of Thief River Falls, age 81 was Promoted To Glory on Friday, December 18, 2015 at Valley Eldercare Center in Grand Forks, ND surrounded by her loving husband and children.

Funeral service to Celebrate the Life of Arlyce will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at the Evangelical Free Church in Thief River Falls, MN with Pastor Bruce Fischer officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls, MN.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a 7:00 PM prayer service on Monday, December 21, 2015 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN.

Arlyce Oswald was born on February 7, 1934 at home on the family farm near Warren, MN the daughter of Sam and Olga (Larson) Oswald. She was baptized in the Baptist Church in Thief River Falls, MN and the family lived on a farm near Rosewood, MN. Arlyce graduated from Lincoln High School in Thief River Falls with the class of 1952.

On August 21, 1954, Arlyce was united in marriage to Rodney Twistol at Zion Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls, MN. To this union four children were born, and the family made their home in Thief River Falls.

Arlyce worked for 28 years at Franklin Middle School as a paraprofessional. She loved her students and enjoyed the faculty and staff.

Arlyce was a warm, loving, kind, caring woman whose home was always open; she was a second mom and grandmother to many. She was a wonderful wife, mother & grandmother. Arlyce loved the Lord and never faltered in her faith, even throughout her battle with cancer.

Arlyce loved traveling, especially her yearly trip to New York City, where she enjoyed shopping and going to Broadway Musicals; going to Norsk Hostfest, cruises in the Caribbean, and to Branson. She also enjoyed taking pictures, making photo albums, and spending time with family, grandchildren and friends.

She was a member of Evangelical Free Church in Thief River Falls for over 61 years.   Survivors include her loving husband of 61 years, Rodney of Thief River Falls; children, Renae (John) Carlson of St. Michael, MN, Randy (Mary Fran) Twistol of Thief River Falls, MN, Renelle (Robert) Fenno of Fargo, ND, and Raelynn (Darrin) Abernathey of Grand Forks, ND; grandchildren, Luke (Jenna) Carlson, Andrew Carlson, Francine (Adam) Tunseth, Samuel Twistol, Zachary Fenno, Alexis Fenno, Andrea Fenno, Brooke Abernathey and Brady Abernathey; great grandchildren, Beckley Carlson and soon to be Hazel Tunseth; sister, Ardelle (Kjellberg) Parker of Thief River Falls; and many other relatives and friends including special friend, Faye Rouland.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Olga Oswald; siblings, Gaylord Oswald and Yvonne Oswald; brothers-in-law, John "Jack" Kjellberg and Bill Parker; sister-in-law, Irene (Paul) Blid; niece, Stacy Wightman; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Oliver and Amy Twistol.
