Obituary

Arnold passed away at the age of 85 on June 28, 2008. He was a long time resident of Oklee, MN, Baudette, MN and Mesa, AZ.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM on Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at Zion Lutheran Church in Oklee, MN with Reverend Robert Paulson Officiating. Burial will be held in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery at Oklee.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5 " 8 PM with a 7:00 PM prayer service at the Johnson Funeral Service in Oklee and also one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.

Arnold was born August 25, 1922 in Douglas, ND to Signe and Oscar Stenberg. They moved to Oklee, MN, where he graduated from Oklee High School. Arnold served as a First Lt. in the Army Air Corps during WWII. On November 9, 1946, he married Marjorie Spilde. They raised six children and farmed in Oklee.

He and Marge are members of Zion Lutheran Church in Oklee. When the children left home, Marge and Arnold pursued their love of boating and fishing at Lake of the Woods. They attended Wabanica Lutheran Church while at the lake.

After they retired, Arnold and Marge spent several years traveling in the US and other countries. They became snowbirds. Theyve spent the last 20 winters in the Mesa area of Arizona.

Arnold has 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren living in eight different states.

Surviving Arnold are his spouse, Marge Stenberg; children-Lynn (Frank) Tallon, Oconomowoc, WI; Kathy (Gary) Williams, Petersburg, IL; Ginny (Bill) Newman, Fargo, ND; Arnie (Elle) Stenberg, Tierra Verde, FL; Ken Stenberg, Phoenix, AZ; Bill (Kim) Stenberg, Parker, CO; brother-Don (Alma) Stenberg, Oklee; sisters-Barbara (Sam) Skjonsby, Houston, TX; Margaret Johnson, Oklee.
