Arthur Fossum, 89 of Plummer, MN passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2016 at the Villa St. Vincent Care Center in Crookston, MN.
Services will be at 10:30 am on Saturday, September 3 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Plummer. A visitation will precede the funeral starting at 9:30. Burial will be at Emardville Cemetery, Plummer.
Arthur Lincoln Fossum, 89, of Plummer, MN, passed away peacefully Sunday, August 28, 2016 at the Villa St. Vincent Care Center with Hospice in Crookston. Art was born March 26, 1927, the son of John and Asta (Sennerud) Fossum in Buffalo, New York shortly after his parents arrived there from Norway. Soon the family moved to Aneta, North Dakota where they farmed for several years before moving to a farm in the Plummer area just east of town. Art married Gloria Braaten in Plummer on February 9, 1948. They moved to California for two years and then returned to Plummer where they farmed. In 1955 Art and Gloria moved to South Milwaukee, Wisconsin where Art started working for Bucyrus Erie as a machinist. After a few years the company had a layoff and the family moved to Carrington, ND where he worked at the Buick garage as a mechanic for a year, until Art was called back to work at Bucyrus Erie. They then resided in Oak Creek, Wisconsin. Art worked for Bucyrus Erie for 28 years as a machinist and supervisor, including from 1976-1978 in Pocatello, Idaho. Art and Gloria then retired to the Plummer area in 1983 where he has resided until his death. He and Gloria enjoyed spending their winters in Mesa, Arizona after their retirement.Funeral Service
