Arthur Olson, 81, died on Sunday, July 28, 2002 at Hillcrest Nursing Home in Red Lake Falls, MN.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, July 30, 2002 at Johnson-Green Funeral Home, Thief River Falls, MN with Rev. Robert Dahlen officiating. Burial will follow at Rosendahl Cemetery, Goodridge, MN.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

Arthur S. Olson was born June 9, 1921 at Goodridge, MN the son of Alfred and Sarah (Halvorson) Olson. He was baptized and confirmed at Reiner Free Lutheran Church near Goodridge. Arthur attended Reiner School and the Crookston Agricultural College.

In 1945, Arthur was united in marriage to Eva Rebeau in Duluth, MN. The couple made their home in Reiner Township. Later he married Mabel Hessman in October of 1951. The couple lived in Salem, Oregon for five years.

Arthur worked construction on roads until 1974 in Alaska, Hawaii and Guam. He returned to Goodridge on March 15, 1974 and resided there until 1991 when he moved to Grand Forks, ND and eventually moved to Thief River Falls, MN.

Survivors include three daughters, Sara Finley of Thief River Falls, MN, Lynda Fallos of Las Vegas, NV, and Cheryl Pittman of Salem, OR; one son, Stanley Olson of Salem, OR; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and one sister Thelma Bailey of Victorville, CA.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Gordon, in 1950.
