Barbara Hoard, 85 of Thief River Falls, MN passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at Villa St. Vincent in Crookston, MN.

The service to celebrate Barb's life will be 10:00 AM Saturday, May 8, 2021 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN with Rev. Kristin Ostercamp officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Friday, May 7, 2021 at Johnson Funeral Service and one hour prior to the service on Saturday.

Barbara Ann Booren was born March 27, 1936 in Thief River Falls, MN the daughter of Charles and Mildred (Nelson) Booren. She was baptized and confirmed at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls, MN. Barb attended school in Thief River Falls graduating from Lincoln High School in the class of 1954.

On July 24, 1955 Barb was united in marriage with Eric Hoard in Thief River Falls where they continued to reside. To this union five kids were born, Charles, Mitchell, Laurelle, Lynette and John.

During her career as a bookkeeper, Barb worked at a local bank, hospital, JC Penney's, PCA-Production Credit Association, and the City of Thief River Falls where she retired in 1990.

Barb enjoyed watching or listening to the Minnesota Twins, going to the lake, spending time at Lovers Lane Park, crossword puzzles, computer games, listening to music, flowers, and especially spending time with her children & grandkids. She was very dependable, and her family could always count on her.

Along with her husband, Barb was a member of the Antique Automobile Club of America Lake Agassiz Chapter. They traveled with the club throughout the region, and it eventually became a family affair. She was a member and served as secretary/treasurer of the Prairie Schooner Car Club.

She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and in her younger years loved singing in the choir.

Survivors include her children, Charles (Dixie) Hoard, Mitchell "Mitch" (Renae) Hoard, Laurelle "Lori" (Rick) Stegeman, Lynette (Todd) McDonald and John (Lisa) Hoard; 10 grandkids, Andrew, Amanda (Jon), Melissa (Shawn), Steph, Tony (Cassie), Haleigh (Freddie), Richelle (fiancé Nick & his son Huntley), Ian, Skyler, Braxton; 9  great grandkids, Madilyn, Neil, Jace, Lexi, Carter, Trinity, Avery, Dominic, Myla, and there is also one more on the way; sister, Lynda Raymond; long time friend Brad Brouse; sister-in-law, Theda Booren; and many other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Eric; parents; and brother Arlen.
