Beatrice Gerda Hamrum, 85, of Brooks, MN died on Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at Pioneer Memorial Care Center in Erskine, MN.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2009 at 2:00 PM in Saron Lutheran Church rural Erskine, MN with Reverend Alan Arneson Officiating. Burial will be held at the Emardville Cemetery near Plummer, MN.
Visitation will be held on Saturday one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
Beatrice Gerda Hamrum was born September 7, 1923 daughter of the late Iver and Anna Hamrum. She was raised in the Plummer area and Graduated from the Plummer high School in 1941.
Following her graduation she attended Bemidji State Teacher College for 2 years. She then taught in country schools for 2 years. Beatrice then moved to Minneapolis and attended Lutheran Bible Institute. She continued to live in Minneapolis where she worked as a surgical aid at Fairview Hospital until her retirement in 1988. In October of 2006 she returned to Brooks and lived with family until June of 2008 when she entered the Pioneer Memorial Care Center at Erskine where she lived until her time of death.
Beatrice enjoyed bible studies and spending time with different church groups and could always be found reading.She enjoyed taking pictures of family, because that was very important to her. Beatrice also enjoyed sports-especially baseball.
She is survived by her sister in law Myrtle Hamrum of Brooks, nephew Lowell (Margaret) Hamrum of Brooks and niece Susan Heller (Jim) Bailey of Alaska, along with great nieces and nephews Wade Heller, Chad (Kristine) Heller, Angie Clementson, Alex Hamrum, Jessie Hamrum and Tyrell Hamrum and great-great nieces and nephews Jessie Heller, Ashley Heller and Mason Heller.
She is preceded in death by her parents Iver and Anna Hamrum, brothers and sisters Gladys Hamrum, Oscar Hamrum, George Hamrum, Bernes Hamrum, Arthur Hamrum, Selmer Hamrum, Ida LaFayette and Bertha Hamrum.
