For a reason only known to God, Beas Christmas miracle wasnt meant to be and she passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at Sanford MeritCare South University Hospital in Fargo, ND on Saturday, January 2, 2010.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Friday, January 8, 2010, at Faith Lutheran Church, Badger, MN with Rev. Louis Hermanson officiating. Burial will follow in Barnett National Cemetery, rural Badger, MN.

Visitation will be 5-8 PM, Thursday, January 7, 2010 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls, MN with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM with Rev. Mark Helgeland officiating. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to the funeral service at the church on Friday.

Beatrice Elaine Forst was born on November 14, 1931 to Arthur and Rose (Hynek) Forst in Michigan, North Dakota. They moved to Benwood in 1933. She was baptized at Klondik Church and she attended the Benwood Country School. She worked with her dad Arthur on the farm in rural Strathcona. Her favorite job was to make round hay stacks. She also worked for the Arvid Bjerk family.

Beatrice was united in marriage to Godfred Joe Svir in Badger in a double wedding with her uncle Johnny Forst and Godfreds aunt Frances Rachel on October 19, 1952. They made their home in Thief River Falls then in 1959 they moved to Kneale Ave. In 1977, they built a house in Rocksbury Township in Pennington County.

Beatrice worked at Johnnies Caf for quite a few years, then she worked at the Dynamite Drive In, Arctic Cat, at the kitchen in Lincoln High School and retired from Garys Bakery in 2007. Beatrice was a good cook who could cook for an army. She loved to do yard work, manicuring their lawn, rock gardens, and flower beds. Her favorite time was when the family came to visit. She enjoyed playing cards and Wii bowling with her grandkids. Her favorite slot machine was Wheel of Fortune at the casino. She was a foster parent for many years and took in several children. She always put herself second to her family.

Bea is survived by her husband Godfred, Thief River Falls, 6 children: Shar (Blaine) Ternes, Thief River Falls, MN, Godfred A. (Gloria) Svir Jr., Thief River Falls, MN, Becky Rogalla, Thief River Falls, MN, Cindy (Neil) Steinhauer, Roosevelt, MN, Roberta (Bill) Russell, Fargo, ND, Stacy (Jean) Svir, Mankato, MN, 14 grandchildren: Shannon (Christina) Ternes, Brieanna Ternes, Jason (Sheri) Svir, Bradley (Lynel) Svir, Kylie Rogalla, Shawna Rogalla, Christopher (Carol) Steinhauer, Heather Steinhauer, Adam (Jessica) Steinhauer, Charles Steinhauer, David Russell, Elizabeth Russell, Megan Svir, Zachary Svir, 9 great grandchildren: William Ternes, Mason Ternes, Caleb Svir, Brody Svir, Madison Svir, Nicholas Svir, Nichole Steinhauer, Alexis Steinhauer, Noah Steinhauer, 2 sisters: Ardy (Vernon) Waage, Greenbush, MN, Beverly (Joe) Swanson, Fergus Falls, MN, her guarding companion German shepherd dog Pooch.

She was preceded in death by her parents, step father Clifford Bjerk, 2 brothers Dennis Forst, and Eugene Forst, and 1 sister Delore Lundquist.
