Benito M. Alameda, 84, died on Sunday, March 19, 2006 at Hillcrest Nursing Home in Red Lake Falls, MN.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, March 23, 2006 at Johnson Funeral Service in Red Lake Falls, MN with Father Tim McGee presiding.

Visitation will be 2:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, March 22, 2006 at the Johnson Funeral Service in Red Lake Falls and one hour prior to services at the Funeral Home on Thursday.

Benito M. Alameda was born March 21, 1921 in Brownsville, TX to father Juan Moreno Alameda and mother Thomasa Guadalupe Alameda. He worked as a truck driver, cook, farm worker, and held any job that would help feed his children.

He enjoyed fishing, cooking, and baseball. He enjoyed taking long walks with his grandchildren.

Benito is survived by his children Arturo (Dee) Alameda, Thief River Falls, MN: Guadalupe (Dennis) Griffin, Briggsville, WI; Ida (Mariano) Rodriquez, Grand Forks, ND; Sylvia (Joseph) Gueary, East Chicago, IN; Raul (Maria) Alameda, Crookston, MN; Maria (Herminio) Mendez, Chicago, IL; 22 grandchildren, and 33 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Maria Antonia Garza and daughter Gloria Alameda.
