Bernice Berget, 99, of Bemidji, MN formerly of Oklee, MN passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at Havenwood Care Center in Bemidji, MN.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at Johnson Funeral Service in Oklee, MN, with Pastor Jeffery Merseth officiating.  Burial will follow at Clearwater Cemetery, rural Oklee, MN.

Bernice Margaret Skelly was born on October 26, 1920 in Grand Forks, ND, the daughter of Urcella Skelly.  She was baptized and confirmed at United Lutheran Church in Grand Forks, ND.  Bernice graduated from Central High School in Grand Forks.

On January 1, 1943 Bernice was married to Levurne Berget in East Grand Forks, MN.  They made their home on a farm in rural Oklee until Levurne died in 1995.  From then on Bernice spent her time between Arizona and Minnesota until February of 2015 when she became a resident of Havenwood Care Center in Bemidji.

Bernice is survived by sons, Allan (Chris) in Atascadero, CA, and Gary (Pat) of Bemidji, MN; daughter, Anita (Gary) Halvorson of Trail, MN; 9 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 5 great great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Levurne; her mother, Urcella; and her granddaughter, Rhonda.
