Bernice Lenhart, age 88, of Thief River Falls, MN, passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at Oakland Park Communities in Thief River Falls, with her loving family by her side.

Funeral service will be held 2:00 PM on Monday, March 7, 2022 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN with Reverend Alex Amiot Officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Monday. Burial will be held at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Warren, MN.

Bernice Gay Mootz was born on September 22, 1933 at Larimore, ND daughter of Albert and Gena (Byklum) Mootz. She moved to Grygla with her family at a young age. She was baptized in Larimore, ND and Confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church in Grygla, MN. She attended school in Grygla and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1951. She worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Johnson in Thief River Falls, MN

On June 26, 1954 Bernice was united in marriage to Donald Lenhart at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Thief River Falls. They had three girls Voni, Lori and Dawn. The couple made their home in Warren where she worked at Diamond Clothing in Warren for many years.

Bernice enjoyed crocheting dollies, making wash cloths, working in her flower beds, and always enjoyed winters in the warmer climates with Don. She was a leader of the Girl Scouts, St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and guild in Warren and the Legion Auxiliary.

Bernice is survived daughters Lori (Dale) Narlock of Thief River Falls, MN and Dawn (Lynn) Packer of Southside, AL; grandchildren Stacy (Terry) Olson, Branden (Bobbi) Narlock, Ashley Narlock and Michael (Emily) Packer; great-grandchildren Brady, Brynn, Bryce, Briggs, Shay and Ethan; siblings Mae Clausen  and Dennis Mootz; sisters-in-law: Betty (Don) Ballard and Patsy Elliot; along with several nieces and nephews.

Bernice is preceded in death by her husband Donald, parents Albert and Gena Mootz, daughter Veronica, grandson Bradley; sisters Beverly Leach and Myrna Anderson.
