Bernice Trochmann, Thief River Falls, MN, age 98, died Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at Thief River Care Center, Thief River Falls, MN.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 AM on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN with Rev. John Golv officiating.  Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls, MN.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service.

Bernice Lillian Solberg was born March 8, 1917 at Thief River Falls, MN, the daughter of Ole J. and Lena B. (Kaushagen) Solberg. She was baptized at Scandinavian Evangelical Lutheran Church, Thief River Falls and confirmed at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Agder Township, Marshall County, MN.  She attended Sunnyside School and graduated Lincoln High School in 1935.

On July 28, 1944, Bernice was united in marriage to Clifford Trochmann at her parent's home in Agder Township.  Clifford passed away during the World War II in Verdun, France, May 22, 1945.  She lived for a short period of time in Fayetteville, NC, but mainly spent most of her life on the farm.

Bernice was a member of Silver Creek Lutheran Church, Thief River Falls, MN, which she joined in 1975, a former member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, where she was secretary of the congregation and treasurer of the Ladies Aid.  She loved traveling, sewing, gardening and visiting with friends and relatives.  She also loved animals.

She is survived by one cousin; a large number of second cousins; and sister-in-law, Mildred Trochmann.

Bernice was preceded in death by husband, Clifford; parents; and sister, Myrtle Solberg.
