Bernice Valley, 87, died Wednesday, December 27, 2006 at Riverview Hospital, Crookston, MN.

Bernice M. Valley was born April 25, 1919 in Red Lake Falls to William and Minnie LaCoursiere. Her Dad died when she was six months old and her mother later married Joe Derosier. She grew up in Terrebonne and attended the Beaugerleau School. She was baptized, received her First Eucharist, confirmed and married at St. Anthonys Church in Terrebonne, MN.

She worked in Red Lake Falls and married Delphis Valley on November 5, 1941. Together they had their 11 children on the family farm near Gentilly, MN. Her husband died on April 28, 1989 and Bernice moved off the farm to Red Lake Falls, MN.

Bernice was a woman of faith. She was a longtime member of St. Peters Church in Gentilly and currently a member of St. Josephs Church in Red Lake Falls. She was also a member of the Guild. Bernice enjoyed her family and friends. She also liked to do crafts, cook, bake and attend to her vegetable and flower gardens.

She is survived by her children, Duane (Joyce) Valley, Pelican Rapids, MN, Julie (Ken) Noesen, Auburn, WA, Mary Jo Valley, East Grand Forks, MN, Bob (Darlene) Valley, Red Lake Falls, MN, Donna (Albert ) Riendeau, Red Lake Falls, MN, Diane (Rocky) Anderson, Grand Rapids, MN, Patricia (Robert) Grosnick, Superior, WI, Katherine (Dick) Gervais, Red Lake Falls, MN, Roger (Bobbie) Valley, Red Lake Falls, MN and Jerry Valley, Crookston, MN, 28 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Noella Delorme, Thief River Falls, MN, Darlene (Dory) Kazmierczak, White Bear Lake, MN and Marcella Leydecker of Overland Park, KS; sister-in-law, Avis Derosier, Little Falls, MN and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Delphis and infant daughter Cecilia and her 2 brothers Herb and Don Derosier.
