NOTICE CHANGE IN TIME FOR FUNERAL-DELAYED UNTIL TUESDAY AT 1:30 pm.....

Bertha Jasnoch 93, died on Thursday, February 5, 2009 at Oakland Park Communities in Thief River Falls, MN.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:30 TUESDAY, February 10, 2009 at St. Bernards Catholic Church, Thief River Falls, with Monsignor Roger Grundhaus presiding. Burial will follow in the St. Bernards Cemetery, Thief River Falls, MN.

Visitation will be one hour prior to Mass on Monday.

Bertha Lena Eilers was born on May 17, 1915 to Fred and Anna (Anton) Eilers in Iowa. She grew up and attended school in South Dakota. She moved with her family near Dorothy, MN in her younger years. She then worked for a farmer as a cook near Crookston, MN where she met her future husband Frank. They were united in marriage on August 1, 1939 in Thief River Falls. To this union five children were born. They farmed in the Middle River area until 1950, when they moved to Thief River Falls. Bertha did home day care and also worked at Arctic Cat in the late 1960s.

Bertha was a good gardener and canned much for her family. She was a member of St. Bernards Catholic Church, and she made sure that the children got to church every Sunday. She loved to sing. She has lived at Oakland Park Nursing Home for the past 10 years.

She is survived by sons, Gary (Alberta) Jasnoch, Sunbury, OH, Stanley (Sandy) Jasnoch, Minneapolis, MN; and daughters, Marilyn Cullen, Goodridge, MN, Shirley (Roy) Stengrim, Newfolden, MN, 10 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, 1 sister Della Martinec, Thief River Falls, MN, and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Bertha was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Frank in 1985, her daughter Virginia Jasnoch in 2008, 4 brothers Roy Eilers, Douglas Eilers, Fred Eilers, Elmer Eilers, a grandson, Victor Jasnoch, and son in law Tommy Cullen.
