Beulah Evelyn Dahl was born June 25, 1917 at the family farm in Mud Lake Township, Marshall County, MN, to Olaf and Randena (Thompson) Dahl. Beulah's primary education was in a rural school in District 145. She attended high school in Holt, MN and graduated from Thief River Falls Lincoln High in 1934. She attended Teachers Training in McIntosh, MN and Moorhead State Teachers College. She taught elementary school for seven years in Marshall and Mahnomen counties. In 1943, Beulah moved to California and was employed as plant production guard at Douglas Aircraft near Santa Monica, CA for nine months. She then worked in Juvenile Homicide and as a Plain Clothes Detective in the Santa Monica Police Dept. for 10 years.
Beulah was happily united in marriage to Eldridge (Tiny) Stout on March 13, 1954 at Las Vegas, NV. During Eldridge's military career, they resided in Roswell, NM, Sacramento, CA, Bermuda, and Albany, GA. Eldridge retired in 1963 and they moved back to Sacramento, CA. In 1975, the Stout's sponsored the relocation of the Van and Hoa Nhan family from Vietnam to the United States. They continued to sponsor the children Don, Tina, and Trang through their college years. The Nhan family, as well as many of the neighborhood kids, consider the Stout's to be their adoptive parents.
Following Tiny's complete retirement in 1981, the couple bought a Cortez motor home and have extensively traveled and enjoyed life. Beulah enjoyed children, working in her yard and rose garden, letter writing, collecting poetry, and researching family genealogy.
Beulah is survived by her husband Eldridge, Rancho Cordova, CA; brother Orvie, Las Vegas, NV; 2 sisters in law, Verna, Argyle, MN; Mary, Burbank, CA; 2 brothers in law Albert, Grafton, ND; Robert, Burbank, CA; 12 nieces and nephews, many great nieces and nephews, and the Nhan family.
