Beverly Ione Sampson, 88, entered heaven Sunday, January 27, 2019 at Oakland Park Nursing Home.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, February 1, 2019 ^t at 11am at Epiphany Station, 403 Main Ave. N., Thief River Falls. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial at Oakdale Cemetery in Crookston, MN.

Beverly was born August 20, 1930 in Red Lake County to Sigurd and Carrie Birkeland.  She graduated from Oklee High School in 1947.  She relocated to Fargo after high school and worked at various jobs including Twin City Wholesale.

She was the oldest of 4 children.  Brothers Ordean and Arlen have passed and her dear younger sister, Lolly Borchert, currently lives in Apple Valley.

Beverly met John Sampson and they married and together raised 5 children, Susan (Gary) Sorum of Fargo, ND; Tricia (Phil) of Carver, MN; David of Thief River Falls; Bill of Fargo, ND; and preceded in death by Greg (1966).  She also has five grandchildren, Angela, Patricia, Jorgen, Davis and Annabelle, as well as three great-grandchildren.

Beverly had a big heart and loved caring and cooking for others.  For many years she worked as a nurse's aide at Valley Home.  She enjoyed volunteering in her church and every Thursday at the hospital gift shop.  She loved to travel and loved to play her piano and sing her many favorite hymns.
