Bonita (Bonnie) Rae Jagol, age 64 of Thief River Falls, Minnesota passed away on November 20th, 2009
at Oakland Park Communities in Thief River Falls. She was also under Hospice care for the last several months.

Bonnie was born in Grand Forks, North Dakota on July 7th, 1945 to Ray and Gladys (Ormiston) Lautt of Alvarado, Minnesota. She was baptized on the 26th of August 1945 at the First Lutheran Church in Warren, MN. Bonnie was confirmed in her Faith from Zion Lutheran Church in Alvarado. She attended and graduated school in Alvarado.

She played the accordion, trumpet, crocheted beautiful afghan's, and woodworking.

Bonnie started work as a telephone operator in Grand Forks. She then met and married Delmar Erickson. This marriage of 25 years was mostly spent in Stanley, ND as a farmer and ranchers and produced three children, son Devan, daughter DeeAnn, and daughter Danette. With this marriage came step children and step grandchildren, which were loved very much by Bonnie. They are Sharon (Bill) Gartrell of Wasilla, Alaska and Lynn (Joanne) Erickson of Waunakee, Wisconsin.

Bonnie spent many of her years as a farm wife and raising a child with developmental disabilities. She was the driving force behind starting a day center, and 3 local group homes to assist the handicapped, at a time when the state was closing down the state mental disability center. After construction of all of these facilities, she soon realized that they were not well enough equipped to meet Devan's needs, and due to her efforts for the handicapped community, The Tri City Care Center in Stanley, ND named a meeting room after her at the time, which still makes them think of her often.

In 1988 Bonnie moved back to NW Minnesota and found her high school sweetheart who had been trying to find her. They fell back in love and married, but sadly they had many differences that couldn't be worked out and they remained devoted friends. She worked at C'mon Inn for a while, and Digi-key for years until her disability to work came into play.

She unselfishly gave up many things to watch over, protect, and live for Devan's every moment for 42 years. She was the best mother she could be until his death in 2006. She was comfortable letting him have peace and always said she too was ready to go and be with her Lord, Jesus Christ. She took great pride in serving the Lord through out her life by various Church groups, Sunday school, and being a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls.

She is finally at peace with Devan again and seeing him happy and healthy was her life long dream. Bonnie passed away three years to the day of her beloved son.

Bonnie is survived by her mother, Gladys Lautt Alverado, MN; children Sharon (Bill) Gartrell, Lynn (Joanne) Erickson, DeeAnn (Dave) Kromko, Danette (Don) Jensen; sister Tammy (Felix) Rameriz; 18 grandchildren with one on the way, and many, many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by father, Ray Lautt; husband, Delmar Erickson son, Devan Erickson; brother, Roger Lautt; and her father-in-law, William Erickson; very special friend, Roger Gullickson; aunts, uncles, and cousins.
